Lonely Musings

Preacher

Take the damnation fake
it’s just a phase to relate
the Lord has given mistake
after mistake for us to take.

You’ve got to want to change
but those creeping eyes
upon which you try to rely
are in vain abstain and try.

Send us as sheep he did
amidst the wolves Shepherds
can do more damage trip
we fall slip become lepers.

Don’t tell me how to think
I’m on the brink but no hate
will ever be the same preacher
you have hypocrite I don’t relate.

Lay down to consumate
to satisfy your needs bear a child
and say it’s the Lord’s work;
what a story you have it’s wild.

In the valley of the shadow
of the death we go to multiply
and on a pulpit shallow;
on your words I won’t rely.

What is sacred about you
that you think yourself highly?
I think you want a tax exemption
and your desire you want nightly.

My God is of the most high,
who put an apple in my eye
and to this fact I can’t deny;
I have restraint I won’t lie.

I won’t pretend to be something
I am not I am what I am
and the hands of time will
give you more than God commands.

Do you hear God in wind?
The earth is dieing soon
where do you want to begin?
We burn hotter by our own doom.

Let’s die together maybe
we’ll all gather under a tent
that you rent and cyanide
will you have us drink content.

My God is a God of peace
within I’ve gone to Churches
far vast and wide now hide
your coward following lurches.

I feel your beating eyes pulse
from your heart is black like mine.
I feel a truth to I want to speak
and I go now while you seek a spine.

My kindness and my generosity
and my empathy is greater.
You want to disect and damn
me because that is your nature.

A church is a steeple people
go to to not think for themselves.
My dear preacher I know God better
than any book on your shelves.
