Chekhov Has A Point…

“Only during hard times do people come to understand how difficult it is to be master of their feelings and thoughts.”

— Anton Chekhov

I have always felt the best way to cope has been to dissect a situation and evolve to forgive and not forget feelings but learn to let them not disturb your own peace.

My heart goes to all who suffer across the world today. And today there is great suffering. Though the grass, meadows, trees and houses may be stained with generations of pain; women and children’s lives all across the globe have value. Now, to shield oneself with pedestrians and have hostages is cowardly and dispicable.

Yet it does not justify the loss of life seen on this earth by the suffering women and children. The world has witnessed enough aggression and war. Friends and allies all see the injustices. Yet stability comes in rational minds whose years have given them pause for any further lives lost. I thank God for such pauses.

I thank God for pauses by others to act on impulse. A thousand years of fighting used for terrorist agendas discusses me. Clarity is found by setting aside ambition and displays of aggression in many situations may be the clear messages with speak with with one another.

That my brother though he may go astray or believe differently, we can come together, one. One in understanding a commonality. That progressive thought seeks to undermine rancor; and that reasonable restraint builds character.

  1. I dont try to be a master of anything.

    1. I think the only thing we can master is our own feelings. Sometimes I have an issue with letting myself be swayed be others. As I get older I understand more I have to be in control of my own emotions and not let others rule over me. That is the sentiment I was trying to convey.
