Curious words. Literal translation according to the New American Standard Bible actually say, “… take care you are not consumed by one another,” in Galatians 5:15
I think we all are way beyond that. Our focus has been one of conflicts between one another. If I can remember correctly my own self-righteousness gets in the way at times.
In our walk with God, in your walk with whatever or whoever, it’s important to not let each of our own attitudes get in the way. I’m no better than you and I don’t have to prove it.
Nor do you have to prove it to me. So let’s not get distracted with the in and outs of whose in control. Let’s be in control of what we can be in control of and stop telling our fellow man what’s best for him or his religious-men/womens lives.
If I have been self righteous I apologize. If I have offended anyone I apologize. My purpose is my walk, or understanding of how God has or hasn’t interceded with my life. I have conservative values and believe in a Higher Power.
Yet I have liberal ideological differences with many of my fellow peers on their ideas of Democracy. I am no moral authority, I am a Christian.
As The New International Version states it’s version of Galatians 5:15, let me elaborate. If I may:
v. 14-15 of Galatians (NIV)
‘… Love your neighbor as yourself. 15- If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.’
Good relationship advice applicable in many situations.
Peace Be With You,
Raven
