A Christian reflection on envy, strife and controvery. What the Bible speaks to concerning conflicts amongst people.
(1st Timothy 6:3-5) NASB
3-If anyone advocates a different doctrine, and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness,
4-he is conceited and understands nothing but has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions,
5-and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gains.

The New Testament is fundamental to Christian thoughts and beliefs in faith in Jesus Christ our Savior. Paul wrote 1st Timothy and warns against false doctrine and those who pretend to practice godliness versus those who believe, with faith, in that which they do not see. Christ gives hope and these passages described how people distort the Word of God and clarifies that true faith is pure. While those who distort truth can be seen as those ask controversial questions and have strife in their hearts. It speaks to the corrupted mind which can produce evil suspicions and friction between people.
In 2 Timothy 2:23 (NASB) , it says:
“But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations knowing they produce quarrels.”
The gospel speaks of peace. The Bible also speaks of how when someone sins against us that we are to turn the other cheek. That even amidst speculation and evil suspicions, abusive language, envy and strife, we are to turn the other cheek.
Matthew 5:39 (ESV) But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.
