Follow my own heart
I wish I could share a part,
but the life I have is half
but without you there’s no art.
Take me around the world
dine on the best cuisine.
Find and dance on dance floors
while finding the best scene.
I imagine you near
the heat is high up in the sphere,
I can stay here in the haze
and all the time disappear.
If you want a carpet rolled
at the bottom of your feet.
I can’t beat a drum to that tune
but I promise to fly you to the moon.
The colors in your hair
golden and blonde apologies I stare
because about your smile I care
and it’s good to see you there.
You give vigor
and on time I want to give all
for your laugh you are a draw
and in my fantasy I see you tall.
You’re short a nugget you shine
and your heart has made mine
so tender and sublime,
sometimes I think I loose my mind.
I want to talk of your dreams,
I want to dance in warm streams
and drink champagne cling
your arms around my neck in steam.
Follow the past and there’s a wreck,
I fell into dissapating drown
did I in tales of myself around town,
so I drank toxins straight down.
But the twinkle in your eye,
your smile and golden glow
help me step toe in toe;
as I move day to day slow.
Head down I see reality
you are but fantasy.
Dreams within dreams
but I hope for your safety.
I’d give it all for a moment,
damn my soul and atonement.
This world is a wreck and I check
off boxes my soul is black I own it.
On my back I have scars
that tell me who I am is bizarre.
But because of the past
I can’t go too far.
Into the fantasy of you,
the beauty I see you and I do
think things that make me blue,
but the fire inside red is true.
